Land Art Vitamin D 250ml

Vitamin D is absorbed through the skin when exposed to ultraviolet b rays (UVB). This absorption depends on the latitude, the season, the time of day, age, the use of sunscreens and skin pigmentation (IOM, 1997).
In Canada, absorption of vitamin D through the skin does not happen during winter months (October to March). Unless recommending unthinkable amounts of cer tain foods, it is practically impossible to respect the daily recommended intake of vitamin D from food sources alone.
Health Canada specifically recommends that all adults ages 50 and up take a daily supplement of 10 micrograms (400 UI) of vitamin D to prevent osteoporosis and certain auto-immune related diseases. Taking a supplement is also recommended by the Canadian Cancer Society.
Land Art's VITAMIN D contains 1000 I.U. of vitamin D per 5 ml, in a delicious apple juice base.
USES

DOSAGE : Child (1 to 18 years old): 1 teaspoon (5 ml), once a day.
Adult: 1 teaspoon (5 ml), once a day.
Can be diluted in a glass of water or a juice.

Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), 25 mcg (1000 UI)

NON-MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS : Purified water, concentrated apple juice, vegetable glycerin, apple natural flavor, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, malic acid, citric acid. * Contains no dairy, wheat, gluten, yeast or corn.
